SFERRA GIZA 45
Sferra uses Giza 70
yarns in the production of it's core line of Italian-woven sheets. Giza
45, even finer than Giza 70, is considered the world's finest, super-long-staple
cotton yarn. Giza yarns are sold by the number, like a golf score, the
lower the number the better.
There is an extremely fertile
region along the Nile River in Egypt where this extraordinary Giza cotton is
grown. This expensive, super-long-staple cotton represents just 0.4% of
Egypt's total annual cotton production.
Due to its small yield, it has primarily only been used for
fine men's shirting. However, by building relationships with these
manufacturers, Sferra is able to obtain a percentage of their production to
produce this bedding. From this very special Giza 45
cotton yarn, Sferra has created three offerings which add up to three of the
world's finest sheets. The plain sateen and jacquard sateen weaves are
silky-soft and similar to their 1020
thread-count sheets. For the percale lover, this is the ultimate;
the lightest, softest percale the world has ever seen.
Made in Italy.
